The first public Bitcoin ATM goes live

A Robocoin kiosk opened at a Vancouver coffee shop, allowing customers to buy and sell bitcoin for cash.

The machine connected identity checks, fiat handling, and exchange liquidity in a physical location. Its launch offered a visible, familiar on-ramp for people without prior exchange accounts.
