The CLARITY Act passes the U.S. House

A market-structure bill dividing oversight between the SEC and CFTC passed 294 to 134 with bipartisan support.

The bill would give digital assets a statutory test for when they are commodities rather than securities, and assign spot market supervision to the CFTC. It passed during a week of crypto legislation that also sent the GENIUS Act to the president.
