U.S. authorities seize Mt. Gox payment accounts

U.S. law enforcement seized Dwolla-linked accounts used by Mt. Gox after alleging an unlicensed money-transmission violation.

The action disrupted an important route for U.S. dollar deposits and withdrawals. It followed the new FinCEN framework and demonstrated that exchange access to banking and payment systems depended on regulatory compliance.
